June 7sauerkraut logo 2 Sauerkraut is a thing that my wife and I make. It’s surprisingly not weird when all you have to do is put salt and cabbage in a jar and wait a few weeks. I’ll concede, though, that making personalized labels for sauerkraut probably isn’t something that a whole lot of people do.

These stickers will go on the top of the sauerkraut jars. Fortunately we’ve gone through enough of the expensive “artisanal” stuff in the process of building up an appropriate germ culture for our own version that we have enough jars to fill to last us until the next batch is ready. That said, these labels will work on a standard canning jar lid, too.

This all started when we got serious about making soap. The soap has no additives or fragrances, it’s just soap. So we made a label that said, “It’s soapy!” with some hipster buzzwords (handcrafted, artisan, vegan…)  on the outside. This morphed into the same style of logo for homemade jam. We decorate each jar with a little round sticker. Even though we don’t sell these (I don’t want to rule this out, though), we have a brand identity, which makes our homemade gifts a little bit cooler than Grandma’s, and that’s what it all about, really.
